The proposed construction of a new bio-fuel power station on the edge of the Somerset levels required a separate planning application by Western Power Distribution for an overhead line to link from the grid to the power station site. Major constraints included the River Parrett corridor, archaeological sites and the M5 motorway. Successful production of the Environmental Statement required detailed LVIA, ecology assessment and archaeological assessment of medieval sites.
